Key Milestones

  • 1963

    Incorporated as Malayan Credit Limited – its main business was hire-purchase financing.

  • 1967

    Listed on the Singapore Stock Exchange.

  • 1969

    Entered the property development market, with real estate eventually becoming the company’s core operation as MCL grew to become one of the region’s leading publicly listed property developers.

  • 1992

    Acquired by Jardine Cycle & Carriage as the company was expanding its real estate development arm.

    Officially changed its name to MCL Land to reflect its core operation more clearly.

  • 2006

    Became a majority-owned subsidiary of Hongkong Land.

  • 2011

    Became wholly-owned by Hongkong Land, and was subsequently delisted from the Singapore Stock Exchange.

  • 2025 - now

    Acquired by Sunway Group, making MCL Land a wholly owned subsidiary of Sunway Property. The company was subsequently renamed Sunway MCL, strengthening Sunway Property’s presence and project portfolio in Singapore.
